Search For Me – New Faces Vol. 2
LYRICS – SEARCH FOR ME
This world is lost without you
You’re gone so far away
I will follow some day
CHORUS
Search for me in every constellation
Search for me where ancient worlds collide
Please don’t leave me stranded here without you by my side
Your soul flew to the heavens
All I ask when I pray:
Will you still love me in the same way?
CHORUS
(Instrumental Solo)
The reaper has fate
But I’m not afraid to sleep and never wake
CHORUS
**************************
A love so strong that even death cannot stop it from finding it’s partner.

Funny, the opening of this song seems weak and I’d be tempted to skip right over it when looking for something else to listen to. But then it suddenly grows very strong and fluid. Interesting changes in rhythm, but it’s Ms. Addis’ lovely voice, especially in the chorus, that pulls you through to the end and encourages a second and third listening.
I agree. Back in 1997 we were experimenting with electronica and obscure intros. But this long intro only works if it’s in the context of a corresponding film/video clip – otherwise I agree it should get right to the music.
Incidentally the intro was an distorted guitar patch from a Roland XP50. The pulses and overtones of the sound are me triggering the pitch bend and modulation wheel. We recorded this on an 8 track reel to reel with a Ramsa/Panasonic WR-DA7 automated fader board. Very old school by today’s standards. With Digidesign ProTools you could do this in a matter of minutes. On the reel to reel it took days to mix.
