Why Should I? – New Faces Vol. 2
LYRICS – WHY SHOULD I?
Ride the night in ecstacy
You know, many people will love you
But no one will love you that’s the way I love you
I love you!
You have left me all alone again
And now I’m forced to go away
Brushed aside without a single thought
And now you want me to stay
CHORUS
Female: Why should I?
Male: (You are nothing, you are dirt
C’mon chica lift that skirt)
Female: Why?
MALE RAP
Chica why you diss me now?
I’z just about to show you how
To get down beg me on your knees
And ride the night in ecstacy
C’mon ho now rock my world
I play out all those other girls
I break your corazon and then
I make you flip flop for my ten
FEMALE
He can catch you on the wind tonight
And sing your life and soul away
With a whisper she can hold you tight
And still you want me to stay
Why should I?
(You are nothing, you are dirt,
C’mon chica lift that skirt)
Why?
MALE RAP
CHORUS
No one will love you that’s the way I love you

Oh man I had so much fun doing the male vocal on this. As memory serves me I had this dance song scheduled for release on the upcoming CD compilation for the studio. I wasn’t happy with the song, I found it to not be interesting. So I added the rap to it. I loved it after that; I thought it was so funny and un-politically correct.
I think the only problem was that the vocalist moved out of town and didn’t know that I was adding the rap. Whoops! I think they weren’t too happy. But I still love this song – probably just because the male vocal was so much fun to do.
I picture this beautiful woman singing in a swanky nightclub and some drunk guy in a big handlebar moustache and big boots comes in and causes a scene yelling at her while she’s performing. I like the odd mix of moods.

This is one of my all time favorites. I can see the torch singer caressing the mike, eyes closed as she sings her lament and some guy that looks like Fidel Castro yelling out his comments through the smoke of his cigar…..I always thought it would make the coolest music video.
