Amnesia – New Faces Vol. 4

Sometimes lovely words
Seem to lose their meaning
I’ve found truth endures
Painful black and screaming

Every now and then I fall apart
And I remember everything
Remember everything…

Sounds so wonderful
But now my hearing’s fading
I can hear your voice
But words are complicating

I have to give you my apologies
Because I don’t think I heard a thing
Didn’t need to hear it anyway

Pain is always
Pain remembers you

This song was recored with just the acoustic guitar and vocal first – then all the other parts were overdubbed and orchestrated to the original take. Charlie Freak was the artist’s stage name pseudonym so I won’t post their name unless I get permission.

The lyrics, voice and melody all lock together beautifully to pull out all
the angst of a ballad. Some nice extras in there as well – the light tap on the guitar strings, and a strong piano chord in just the right spot. Get a sense this song could leap right over really good and into mega-powerful if it had..mmm..not sure, but like there’s a couple of missing notes – like a lion getting ready to pounce, but then retreating instead.
